I placed my order for a custom built Supernatural Series II bass (with funk groove) from Jaydee Custom Guitars in July 2023 - they anticipate that it will be delivered to me by the end of November 2024. Not certain but here's hoping.
I've owned two of these basses in my life. The first was a Series II that I bought new in the mid eighties as I was heavily into Level 42 and Mark King's bass playing - I wished the bass came with his skills, unfortunately it didn't! I sold it to someone in Japan in 1999 and wish I hadn't. I bought another Series II second hand around 2003, but sold that as well - not sure why!
So, hopefully soon, I will receive my third Jaydee Supernatural Mark King bass. Watch this page for photos when I get it!
I've been told it's being built - I've added photos below from Jaydee as it's progressing.
Update May 2025
It arrived ... however I'm not totally happy with it. There's a light line on the ebony fretboard, a small chip on the headstock that's been filled in - apparently it was a knot in the wood that they had to fill in - the logo doesn't look too great, and the lines on the body don't match up with the lines on the neck. It's all a shame as it plays and sounds wonderful.
However, Jaydee have been great and they promised to sort all these issues by building me another - this time a neck-through-body version. I'm very impressed - they even said I can keep this one until my new one is ready, it will take a few months, they said. They said they will then use this one as a demo at their site for visitors to use and try out, so they're ok if I use this one as my own in the meantime and I don't need to worry if I damage it while using it ... treat it as my own, they said, until my new one arrives.
