Sterling Stingray RAY34

Wonderful bass, sounds ace and plays really well, but there is some damage to the upper part of the body – I’ve lacquered over it but I have to admit I haven’t done a great job. Other than that the bass is in excellent condition – the roasted maple neck is a dream to play and the sound from the 3-band active electronics is superb. The original tuners on these Sterling basses are not great so I replaced them with Sandberg tuners, which is a nice upgrade.

It looks great and the damage to the body is not noticeable from the front when playing and it’s a really great professional-sounding and playing bass – check out reviews online. These can apparently be quite heavy but his one is particularly light at 3.8kg or 8lb 7oz so it’s a dream to play live. I recently fitted new Ernie Ball 45-105 strings.
